The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) is the largest police department in Minnesota. Under the leadership of Chief Medaria Arradondo, the MPD’s 875 sworn officers and 180 civilian employees, provide quality service to 425,000 Minneapolis residents every day.
On average, MPD Officers will respond to over 400,000 calls for service each year. Repeated exposure to situations of lost hope, despair, and sometimes violence, can weigh heavily on an officer’s health. And often, that same exposure is experienced by sworn investigator and civilian employees who process violent crime scenes, conduct victim interviews and testify in court.
